With the countdown to Christmas now well and truly on, Seat Pitch brings you a unique take on the customary advent calendar with a Nottingham Forest twist.
We have 25 doors to open, with familiar faces from the present and past waiting behind each one (sorry, no chocolate).
At the end of the year, we will then compile the ultimate Reds squad made up of those voted into each number. You can have your say by getting involved with our daily Twitter polls.
Let’s keep things rolling with door No. 3:
Surely there is only one logical choice to fill this particular shirt, isn’t there? Over 500 appearances for Forest, many of them as captain, Pearce is rightly guaranteed a place in Reds and England folklore.
‘Psycho’ struggled to replicate his playing achievements when handed the managerial reins in 2014, having previously impressed in a player-caretaker post, but the former electrician will forever be remembered for lighting up the City Ground.
The softly-spoken man with the droopy jowls holds the honour of having filled just about every major role at the City Ground, while also winning just about everything there is to win.
First Division, League Cup and European Cup successes were enjoyed as a player, promotion as a manager after taking on the unenviable job of succeeding Brian Clough, while time has also been spent as Reds chairman and club ambassador.
Another hidden gem unearthed by Forest that would go on to enjoy the most productive period of his career while with the Reds.
With pace to burn complemented by a sturdy frame and sweet left foot, Rogers – who starred during the promotion-winning campaign of 1997/98 which delivered a First Division title – took in two spells at the City Ground either side of a stint at Leicester.
Would you prefer to see somebody else fill the No. 3 spot – Frank Gray, Colin Barrett? Let us know your selection in the comment box below or reply to the Twitter poll – which can be found here.
