With the countdown to Christmas now well and truly on, Seat Pitch brings you a unique take on the customary advent calendar with a Nottingham Forest twist.

We have 25 doors to open, with familiar faces from the present and past waiting behind each one (sorry, no chocolate).

At the end of the year, we will then compile the ultimate Reds squad made up of those voted into each number. You can have your say by getting involved with our daily Twitter polls.

Let’s keep things rolling with door No. 5:

LARRY LLOYD

A larger-than-life character who has retained strong ties to Forest after enjoying the most productive period of his playing career while with the Reds.

Another member of the legendary European Cup-winning side, Lloyd was a no-nonsense defender acquired for a paltry £60,000 who struck up the most formidable of partnerships with Kenny Burns.

STEVE CHETTLE

Nottingham native Chettle had Forest running through his blood and only two players in the club’s distinguished history have made more appearances than the 526 he managed.

Not overly flashy or eye-catching, but Mr Dependable for a succession of managers from Brian Clough to David Platt and a performer whose versatility had him pushing for England recognition at various stages of his career.

WES MORGAN

‘The Mighty Oak’ stood tall in the Forest backline for the best part of 10 years, taking in over 400 appearances.

He may have lifted the Premier League title in the blue of Leicester, but a man raised in The Meadows will forever have the Reds at heart.
