With the countdown to Christmas now well and truly on, Seat Pitch brings you a unique take on the customary advent calendar with a Nottingham Forest twist.

We have 25 doors to open, with familiar faces from the present and past waiting behind each one (sorry, no chocolate).

At the end of the year, we will then compile the ultimate Reds squad made up of those voted into each number. You can have your say by getting involved with our daily Twitter polls.

Let’s keep things rolling with door No. 18:

An ever-present during a relatively short stay at the City Ground which left many wondering what could have been had Forest not get themselves into a financial mess and failed to mount a promotion push in 2014/15.

Delivered a career-best 15 goals in his one full season with the Reds and was virtually unplayable when on top of his game, with stunning solo efforts becoming his calling card before heading to West Ham.

Joined as a relative unknown when making a loan move from Le Havre in 1999, but would leave six years later as one of Forest’s most consistent full-backs of the modern era.

Blessed with an impressive turn of pace that allowed him to maraud down the flanks, the Frenchman has spent time within the Reds’ scouting system since hanging up his boots.

Formed part of a protracted transfer that was put in place by Brian Clough and completed by Frank Clark as Forest prepared to piece together a promotion push in 1993/94.

A man capable of filling a number of positions at the back or across midfield was a steady and reliable performer for the Reds and broke into the senior Norway squad during his time at the City Ground.

Would you prefer to see somebody else fill the No. 18 spot – Paul McKenna, John Thompson? Let us know your selection in the comment box below or reply to the Twitter poll – which can be found here.
