Andy Reid was on talkSport yesterday speaking on the regrets he holds over Stuart Pearce’s reign as manager of the club.

The man who made 262 appearances for Forest feels that he let Pearce down.

He told talkSport: “I let Stuart down around the place, I wasn’t in the right frame of mind.

“I struggled to come to terms with the fact that I probably wouldn’t play again.”

The brutally honest comments came as something of a shock to Forest fans who hold Reid in high regard.

A master of his trade, Reid netted 38 goals for Forest and but for injury would have played many more games during his career.

Under Pearce, there was a real sense that the Reds could grace the Premier League once again.

His side didn’t lose until October and sat top of the league for a long time at the start of the campaign.

A disastrous run of form, however, saw Forest – minus the injured Reid – slip well off the pace and Pearce eventually paid the ultimate price.

Despite that, Forest fans are not prepared to let Reid accept any of the blame.

Some supporters took to Twitter to support the apologetic Reid, following his talkSport appearance…
