Lewis Grabban is hoping to he can remain injury-free for the remainder of the season to boost Nottingham Forest’s play-off push.

The 31-year-old could be available for when the Reds face Swansea City on their return from the international break next weekend, according to the Nottingham Post. The striker has been missing since the middle of February with a troublesome Achilles problem.

However, the 16-goal man believes he is now ready to play his part in the Championship run-in.

It’s fair to say that the Reds have missed him. He offers more to the side than Daryl Murphy or Karim Ansarifard. He’s a recognised goal threat at this level and strikes fear among opposition defences.

There’s no doubt that the Reds’ play-off hopes now look slim. But if Grabban can return in goalscoring form, then they may have a slight chance of closing the gap between themselves and the top six.

Martin O’Neill will certainly be delighted to have Grabban back at his disposal.

‘Fantastic news’, ‘It’s far too late’
