Former Nottingham Forest players David Johnson and Andy Reid have congratulated Tyler Walker for his stunning season at Mansfield.

Walker has been in fine form for the Stags, netting 24 goals for the promotion-chasing club.

 

Over the weekend, Walker was named with three other Stags players in the League Two Team of the Year.

The 22-year-old took to Twitter to speak of his delight at the inclusion:

Reid and Johnson both enjoyed successful periods playing for Forest and were quick to praise the academy graduate, tweeting:

Next season Walker could earn another chance to perform at the City Ground.

The loan spell at One Call Stadium was pretty much a case of now or never for the son of former Forest defender, Des.

In scoring 24 goals with six matches of the campaign to play he has done all he possibly can to offer the management at Forest food for thought.

Daryl Murphy is 35 and other than Lewis Grabban who has 17 league goals to his name this season, options aren’t excessive in the striking department.
