With the 2018/19 now consigned to the record books, Nottingham Forest must look forwards rather than backwards.
As usual at the City Ground, the campaign didn’t go without incident and lots of stories emerged from the rollercoaster ride of a season.
Seat Pitch continues with a new feature called ‘Stories of the Season’ which will encapsulate the highs and lows of the campaign just gone…
November 2018 – Lolley runs riot as Forest hit five
Nottingham Forest winger Joe Lolley had a game to remember against his boyhood club, scoring a stunning goal and creating four assists during a 5-5 draw.
Forest led 2-0, 3-2 and 4-3 but Tobias Figueiredo’s red card gave Villa the initiative. A late Lewis Grabban goal did earn a share of the spoils for the Reds, however.
The draw was somewhat tough to take for Forest, although it did offer hope that the Reds could compete with the very best teams in the division.
Grabban opened and completed the scoring for the Reds, with Lolley, Joao Carvalho and Matty Cash netting the other goals.
Tammy Abraham was the Villa hero, netting four times for Dean Smith’s team.
Forest weren’t defeated in the month of November. Big wins were secured against table-topping Sheffield United and struggling Hull City.
A 0-0 draw with Stoke City meant it was eight points from a possible 12 for the month and put the Reds firmly in contention for a place in the Championship play-offs.
