Reported Nottingham Forest target Cristhian Stuani has revealed that there are numerous clubs that want to sign him this summer.

After missing out on the play-offs by eight points last season, it became clear that the Reds needed to add attacking reinforcements to their ranks. Martin O’Neill won’t want to be relying solely on the likes of Lewis Grabban and Joe Lolley to deliver the goals next season.

And with Stuani suggesting he could be on the move this summer, he could be an ideal fit for the Reds.

The 32-year-old has enjoyed another superb season on a personal level, finding the back of the net 19 times in La Liga last season for Girona. However, despite the fact he finished fifth-top scorer in the league, Girona were still ultimately relegated.

It seems unlikely that Stuani will remain at the club following their relegation. According to the Nottingham Post, the Spanish outfit have slapped a £6.1 million price tag on his head. That is sure to attract the attention of numerous sides this summer.

Speaking to Catalunya Radio, the forward revealed that there are sides interested in securing his signature this summer. However, he insisted that he is yet to find out what the situation at Girona is.

He said: “There are clubs that want me.

“I have not talked or sat down (with Girona). I still do not know what they have.

“Right now my priority is the selection (for his country).

“I have made lots of goals and that draws attention. There are clubs that want me and that’s a praise.”

It seems like Stuani is unwilling to comment on his future out of respect for Girona. However, it’s difficult to envisage him not leaving the club this summer. Having enjoyed a successful spell at Middlesbrough two years ago, he may be tempted by a return to English football.

According to Mexican outlet Radio Formula, the Reds are seriously interested in signing the forward this summer. This isn’t the first time that the Reds have been interested in securing his signature. Aitor Karanka was also keen on bringing him to the City Ground last summer, according to Team Talk.

It will certainly be interesting to see how his situation develops in the coming weeks.
