He will sign on a free transfer following his departure from Villa Park at the end of the season. At this stage, the length of his proposed contract with the Reds is unknown.

After a few months of speculation, there is light at the end of the tunnel as Nottingham Forest fight to bring one of the division’s most experienced wingers to the City Ground.

Surprise

There’s no doubt that any potential deal for the 31-year-old winger had gone under the radar. Sabri Lamouchi has been very busy in the transfer market since taking over from Martin O’Neill. He has already added Tiago Silva, Alfa Semedo, Yuri Ribeiro and Arijanet Muric to his squad.

Lamouchi will now be hopeful that he can make Adomah his fifth addition within the next 24 hours.

The Reds had registered their interest in Adomah previously under the management of Martin O’Neill, according to Bristol Live. It seems that the club’s position hasn’t changed despite the managerial switch.

This is an exciting signing for the Reds and they deserve huge credit, not just for beating some of their Championship rivals to securing Adomah’s signature. West Brom, Bristol City and Millwall had all been linked with the winger.

The Ghanaian is already proven in the Championship, and has won promotion to the Premier League with both Middlesbrough and Aston Villa. Whilst the recent signings have generated excitement, Adomah is a player who is already proven and should make an instant impact.
