Former Nottingham Forest loanee Kieran Dowell joined Derby County on a season-long loan from Everton earlier this week.
Kieran Dowell has disappointed some Nottingham Forest fans after joining bitter rivals Derby County. He has joined the Rams on a season-long loan from Premier League side Everton.
The 21-year-old’s latest move appears to have caused a mixed reaction from both Nottingham Forest supporters and players. Joe Worrall, who was close to the midfielder whilst he was at the City Ground, certainly saw the funny side on social media.

There’s no doubt that the England Under-21 ace was a popular figure during his time on Trentside. He scored nine goals in 38 appearances in the Championship over the 2017/18 campaign. This was enough for him to end the season as the club’s top scorer.
He was never quite the same player under Aitor Karanka in the second half of the season. The youngster fitted perfectly into Mark Warburton’s style of play, and when he left, his form dipped as a result.
Since then, the Reds have really boosted their midfield options. João Carvalho was signed for £13 million from Benfica last summer, and is arguably a significant upgrade.
Even if the Reds had the option to re-sign Dowell on loan, they wouldn’t have needed to. Sabri Lamouchi already has so many options in that area of the pitch.
The 21-year-old could make his return to the City Ground before the end of the year. The Reds take on the Rams in the first instalment of the East Midlands Derby on the 9 November. The reverse fixture at Pride Park takes place on 4 April next year.
This is what those of a Nottingham Forest persuasion have had to say in response to their former player’s update…
