Nottingham Forest take on West Bromwich Albion in the 2019/20 curtain-raiser on Saturday evening in front of the live Sky cameras.

The Reds finished ninth last season and will head into the new campaign with Sabri Lamouchi in charge of the team.

As Forest prepare to get their season underway, all eyes will be on the French gaffer come Saturday afternoon as he picks his first competitive team.

Ahead of this weekend’s contest, we looked at how Lamouchi might line-up for his very first game in English football:

Goalkeeper and back four

On-loan Manchester City custodian Aro Muric looks set to take his Forest bow having featured in the last two friendlies.

Lamouchi was rocked this week with the news that Tendayi Darikwa will miss the opening weekend with a knee injury. Matty Cash has been utilised there in pre-season and should continue.

At centre-back, Alex Milosevic should start. He did suffer a minor injury in pre-season but will probably get the nod here.

Competing for a place alongside him will be Michael Dawson, Joe Worrall and possibly Tobias Figueiredo. The Portuguese youngster did sit out of last week’s friendly with Real Sociedad, however, so probably won’t play.

At left-back new signing, Yuri Ribeiro will compete with last season’s occupant Jack Robinson for a place in the team.

Middle of the park

Ben Watson has been frequently used in pre-season and it would be a major surprise to see him left out on Saturday.

Alfa Semedo will probably get the nod alongside him, although Claudio Yacob will be vying to be in contention.

New signing Samba Sow could make the bench.

In attack

The flanks will probably be occupied by star man Joe Lolley on the left and new signing Albert Adomah on the right.

Lewis Grabban will hope to hit the ground running after 17 goals last season and he is expected to start in attack.

In the number 10 role, Tiago Silva should make his debut for the club.
