Nottingham Forest take on Hull City tomorrow night looking to get back to winning ways after seeing their 10-match unbeaten run extinguish at Wigan on Sunday.

The Reds are still nicely poised in the Championship and six points from two home games this week would be ideal for Sabri Lamouchi’s men.

Forest made five changes at Wigan and the players introduced into the starting eleven failed to have the desired effect, with the Reds ultimately beaten by the Latics.

Tomorrow is a new challenge for Lamouchi, however, and he will hope to collect three massive points.

One man who will come up against Forest at the City Ground could have quite easily been in Lamouchi’s ranks for the 2019/20 campaign.

Kamil Grosicki was a summer target for the Reds, although it appeared that both the Reds and Middlesbrough baulked at the £4 million valuation placed on him by the Tigers (Hull Daily Mail).

The 31-year-old is Hull’s highest earner of £25,000-a-week and can leave the KCOM Stadium for free next summer, according to the Hull Daily Mail.

His form so far this season perhaps indicates why Forest wanted to sign Grosicki. Although the winger hasn’t contributed an assist yet this season, he does have five goals to his name.

Solid second-tier performer

Given the size of his wages, and perhaps his age, it seems highly unlikely that Hull will offer him a new contract beyond this season. Although there is an option for another, it remains to be seen whether Hull will warrant his wage.

In total Grosicki has scored 23 goals and registered 23 assists in 105 appearances for Hull and he is quite clearly an important part of Grant McCann’s team.

Forest will get a close up look at what they could have signed during the summer when the two teams clash tomorrow and the Reds will hope their transfer decision doesn’t come back to haunt them.
